How Can CMD Help You?

Increasing Management Effectiveness

Raising Self-Awareness
In our experience, improving any aspect of management effectiveness has to start with raising the level of self-awareness in each individual manager. Each of your managers will have his or her own style and preferences for the way they do things; the key to their effectiveness will be to understand themselves, their impact on others and their ability to respond to the differences in other people.

Often using Insights Discovery as the starting point, Cavendish Management Development can develop awareness-raising programmes tailored to the specific needs of your organisation and your people.

These programmes have been shown to help improve management effectiveness in a number of ways, including:

Developing Key Management Skills
Cavendish Management Development has considerable experience of developing tailored training programmes to build a wide range of core management skills. Some of these can be linked explicitly to the Insights Discovery profiles that form part of the Self-awareness programmes referred to above.

We can offer tailored training programmes covering the following management skills. Others can be developed on request.

Creating a 'Coaching Culture'

Understanding what coaching means
The need to adopt a more 'coaching' approach to management and organisational development is the aim of an increasing number of organisations in many sectors. For many, however, the concept is a rather vague and sketchy ideal.

CMD can develop training programmes to help your people understand what is meant by 'coaching' and to begin to develop some of the key skills required of effective business coaches. We can help them to understand the benefits of this approach, including:

Team or One-to-One Coaching
CMD can also develop bespoke coaching programmes to help develop individuals and teams in your organisation. Using the 'GROW' model (see figure below) as the basis for our coaching interventions, these programmes will help your people to:

As well as developing programmes, we are happy to offer coaching on a one-to-one basis with individuals, to help them meet new challenges, especially those associated with new challenges and new roles.

Increasing Training Effectiveness

Improving Existing Training
Many training programmes fail to deliver the benefits that the organisation is hoping for. This can be very costly, both in terms of the costs invested in developing the courses and the time of the people attending them.

CMD has many years of experience of developing leading-edge training solutions for some of the world's leading organisations. We can help to increase the impact of your training in a number of ways:

Providing 'World Class' Training Resources
Cavendish Management Development comprises a network of trainers who have worked with the best organisations in the world. Many of the people in our network are amongst the very best the training profession has to offer.

We are experienced in, and comfortable with, working alongside in-house training teams to add experience and diversity to training solutions. We know how to deliver training in a way that is truly engaging and will bring about positive action and change. We can operate at any level in the organisation and with any category of staff - we apply the same principles and deliver to the same quality standards every time.

Running Change or Process Development Workshops

Workshop Design
Business change projects invariably involve extensive programmes of stakeholder consultations. These frequently take the form of workshops or similar events, designed to bring key stakeholders together to share views and ideas about the project. Such events represent an expensive component of most change programmes.

CMD has considerable experience of designing interactive and participative events to maximise the benefit of the resources invested in such events. We know how to ensure that the event is both enjoyable and effective; that it achieves it's objectives and helps to move the change project forward, but at the same time gives participants a real sense of involvement and engagement with the project.

Workshop Facilitation
We are also highly experienced at facilitating such workshops. These can often be difficult and challenging events; it is not unusual for emotions to run high. Effective facilitation of these workshops requires considerable skill and confidence, born of experience and an understanding of facilitation techniques. CMD can supply this expertise.
